Everything you need to know about how the Gaijin Smash Design Studio works — your share, your rights, and how we work together.

This agreement applies to any creator accepted into the Gaijin Smash Design Studio. Participating in the Design Studio — submitting designs for sale on gaijin-smash.net — means you accept these terms in full.
You must be at least 18 years old to participate.
You earn 15% of the retail price for every item sold bearing your design. This is paid on the base retail price in USD at the time of sale.
Size surcharges (2XL, 3XL) are not included in the calculation base — your share is always based on the standard product retail price. The rate is the same regardless of garment type (t-shirt or hoodie).
When a design surpasses 200 lifetime units sold, the rate increases to 20% of retail for all future sales of that design.
The milestone is tracked automatically and you'll be notified when a design crosses the threshold. This applies per design, not per creator.
A sale is a completed, fulfilled order. Refunded, cancelled, or charged-back orders are excluded. If a partial refund is issued, the designer share is adjusted proportionally.
Earnings are paid monthly, by the 15th of the following month. The minimum payout threshold is $10 USD — earnings below $10 roll over to the next month.
Payment is made via PayPal or another agreed method — you'll provide payment details when you're accepted. You are responsible for any taxes on your earnings in your jurisdiction.
You retain full ownership of your original artwork and designs.
By submitting a design, you grant Gaijin Smash a non-exclusive, worldwide license to reproduce, display, and sell the design on Gaijin Smash products and marketing materials for as long as it remains in the catalog.
You warrant that your submitted work is original and does not infringe any third-party intellectual property rights.
By submitting work, you confirm:
If a design generates a valid IP claim from a third party, it will be removed immediately and any unpaid earnings for that design are forfeited.
You may request removal of your design from the catalog at any time by contacting support@gaijin-smash.net. Earned amounts for sales prior to removal will still be paid out.
Gaijin Smash may also remove designs that violate these terms, receive IP complaints, or no longer fit the brand's direction. You'll be notified when this happens.
You are an independent creator, not an employee or contractor of Gaijin Smash LLC. No employment benefits, workers' compensation, or tax withholding applies.
This agreement does not grant exclusivity — you can sell your work elsewhere.
Gaijin Smash may update these terms from time to time. You'll be notified by email at least 14 days before changes take effect. Continued participation after that date means you accept the updated terms.
